About this event

Rural Design Centre is supporting a full-day event during Community Energy Fortnight, exploring how organisations across County Durham can take practical steps towards a more sustainable, locally powered future.

Community Energy in County Durham: Building a Shared, Sustainable Future will bring together expert speakers including Community Energy England, North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub, Edge Innovation, Durham Community Action, and others. The day will introduce what community energy is, why it matters, and how your organisation can get involved.

This event is ideal for community groups, voluntary organisations, and local leaders interested in learning from real examples, exploring funding and partnerships, and taking the first steps towards projects in their area.

You’ll hear from leading voices across the sector, take part in discussions, and gain practical insight to help turn ideas into action. Sustainable Energy Engineering Limited will also be showcasing solar panels and batteries on the day.

Whether you’re just curious or ready to get started, this is a great opportunity to connect and learn.

Spaces are limited, so please book your place.
